Sanctuary Farms
TRF sanctuary farms offer Thoroughbreds who have completed their careers on the racetrack a peaceful and safe place to live out and enjoy their retirement. These farms provide spacious pastures and expert care to ensure the well-being of these majestic animals in their later years. Farm Partnerships
Pastures of Point Lookout
PA
Artist Jamie Wyeth transformed his 250-acre farm in southeast PA into a sanctuary for retired racehorse to honor his late wife, Phyllis Mills Wyeth. This beautiful partnership was made possible with the help of TRF board member Anita Motion. Ten horses arrived in 2020 from TRF Second Chances Program at Wallkill in NY, opening space for ten new horses to join the TRF herd.
Wheeler Farm
SC
The Wheeler family has been involved with the TRF for nearly 30 years. One of TRF’s oldest partner sanctuary farms, located in South Carolina, their farm is home to several retired Thoroughbreds.
